Beaches in Dien Thanh and Dien Kim communes are attractive destinations for tourists. However they have recently become more polluted.

Ho Thi Tam, chairwoman of Dien Thanh Commune, admitted the pollution at the local beach due to rubbish, saying that the majority is water hyacinth coming from rivers and canals in Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts.

“To clean the beach, a considerable amount of money must be spent to hire people, while the funding for waste collection provided by the district is limited," Tam added.

The same situation is seen at the beach in Dien Kim Commune. According to Le Van Thong, chairman of the commune, local authorities will mobilise people to clean the beaches in some days to come.

Dien Kiem Beach is six kilometres long.
