The event is held between the 11th and 16th days in the first lunar month of every year.
The ceremony re-enacts a custom dating back to the Tran Dynasty (1225–1400), when mandarins took out their seals after the Tet holiday, resuming administrative activities, including rewarding and conferring titles. It has become a tradition for Vietnamese to come here and receive a stamp with the hope of good luck and happiness.
The lucky stamps are distributed among visitors starting 5am on February 12.
For this occasion, many sports and cultural activities, as well as folk games, have been organised.
Tran Temple in Loc Vuong Ward, Nam Dinh City, is a place to worship the Tran emperors and mandarins who helped support the Tran Dynasty.
