The Dong Nai City Military Command said on September 7 that four more sets of martyrs’ remains, along with numerous personal belongings, had been discovered and recovered at the site of the former Loc Ninh Airport, now in Loc Ninh Ward, Dong Nai City.
The latest discoveries bring the total number of sets of martyrs’ remains found at the airport site to six.

According to authorities, Loc Ninh Airport was a strategic military base built by the US and the Saigon administration from 1965. During fierce fighting from 1967 onwards, many officers and soldiers of the 7th Division were killed there.
Previously, based on information provided by veterans and local residents, the Dong Nai City Military Command exhumed five sets of martyrs’ remains from a residential area in Loc Tam Hamlet, Loc Tan Commune, near the former Loc Ninh Hospital.
The unit has so far recovered a total of 11 sets of martyrs’ remains in the wider area.
