The 31-year-old man who works at the Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh and lives in Hong Ha Ward of the province's Ha Long City has become the country’s Patient 1553.

He has recently displayed symptoms of fever, cough and sore-throat, and went to hospital for a medical check-up himself. His test result turned out positive on January 27.

He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi. Initially, 43 people have been quarantined due to having close contact with him.

Because of the case, students from Quang Ninh’s schools of all levels are allowed to stay at home from today, January 28, until the end of this week.

Meanwhile, a 34-year-old woman from the northern province of Hai Duong has been officially confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 after coming into close contact with the 32-year-old woman from the same province, who had tested positive upon arrival in Japan.
Luckily, 21 people who had come into close contact with the woman tested negative for Covid-19.
