On Tuesday, Ngo Thanh Vinh, captain of the fishing boat QNg 90918TS from Binh Son District, reported to local authorities about the case in which his boat was rammed by a foreign ship.

According to Vinh, on April 16, while operating in the Spratly Islands, fishing boat QNg 90918TS with 43 crew members on board was chased by a foreign ship. Some people on the ship carried weapons. Then seven among the foreign ship’s crew members used a canoe to attack the Quang Ngai boat.
The assailants took five mobile phones and around one tonne of squid. They also threatened the Vietnamese fishermen.
The Quang Ngai fishing boat continued to work and returned to the mainland on May 9.
