Tan Son Nhat to handle up to 130,000 passengers daily over holiday

Tan Son Nhat International Airport, HCM City, is expected to handle about 125,000 passengers a day over the Reunification Day (April 30)-May day holiday.

During the peak period from April 24 to May 3, the airport will operate about 750 flights per day on average, up 12 per cent from current schedules, with most being domestic services. Traffic is forecast to surge on April 24, April 29 and May 3.

The airport has strengthened operational plans, security measures and passenger support, while updating flight information systems at terminals T1 and T3 and rolling out biometric identification for boarding procedures.

Authorities are also stepping up safety and service oversight in coordination with aviation regulators and meteorological services to ensure timely weather updates affecting flight operations.

The Immigration Department will apply enhanced aviation security measures at Level 1 from April 29 to May 4.

Passengers are advised to arrive 2-3 hours early, prepare valid documents, prioritise online or kiosk check-in, avoid prohibited items and follow security instructions.

Travellers are also encouraged to limit escorts, use public transport where possible and monitor flight updates.
