As many as 386 prisoners in Hanoi have been granted amnesty on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival.
Of the total, 226 received a reduction of their terms and 160 were released ahead of time.
The released prisoners expressed their gratitude to the Party and State’s clemency policy and thanked prison warders for helping them rehabilitate themselves in order to return to their family early.-
