A little boy from the mountainous province of Cao Bang has been saved from retinoblastoma thanks to receiving donations for treatment from Dantri/DTiNews readers.
After the article about the boy Truong Van Lanh from the Mong Ethnic Group in Bac Hop Commune, Nguyen Binh District, Cao Bang Province was published on Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper in December 2016, many readers have joined hands to help him.

The boy suffered from retinoblastoma
Lanh’s health condition has improved much following more than one year of treatment thanks to the support from DTiNews readers. His family had a new house which was handed over to them before the 2018 Tet holiday which they had never dreamed of.
In 2016, Lanh’s father died and his mother abandoned their home, leaving four children behind. Since then, the children have lived on their kind-hearted neighbours' support. Four-year-old Lanh after that was diagnosed with retinoblastoma.

Members of the Cao Bang Discovery Charity Club took him to the National Hospital of Ophthalmology for the treatment. According to doctors, the only way to save him was removing the affected eye to prevent cancer’s spread. The Club could not afford the treatment but after his story was shared on Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, many readers have sent donations to help.
