Five years ago, she gave birth to her eldest daughter Ha Quynh Nhu who was as healthy as other children of her age. However, gradually, Nhu showed unusual signs of development such as slow growth and flabby body. Particularly, her limbs used to be curled up.
At present, the five-year-old girl remains bed-ridden and weighs only six kilos. However, the family cannot afford the treatment, so she has returned home.
When Nhu was more than four years old, the couple had their second child Ha Van Dung who was born in the 31st week of pregnancy. Born prematurely, Dung was very weak and sadly he was also diagnosed with brain atrophy like his sister.
Dung is now five months old and weighs only two kilos.
The couple feel totally powerless when she can’t take her children to hospital due to financial difficulties.
Sa has been trying to do different kinds of jobs to earn money. Currently, he is carrying wood for a workshop which is some 10 kilometres from his home.
