The city will be expanded by 28,000 hectares to the south of Hoanh Bo Town and Quang Yen Town.
Ha Long City
Ha Long will be turned into an environmentally-friendly tourism city with a developed infrastructure system.
The city’s population is forecasted to reach around 570,000-600,000 by 2030 compared to 384,000 in 2017.
The PM has also instructed Quang Ninh Province to consider the construction of infrastructure networks such as roads and express railway routes to connect the city and other localities.
Earlier, the province has proposed building a coastal road linking Ha Long and Cam Pha and an express railway travelling from Hanoi to Mong Cai Town.
Hon Gai International Harbour in Ha Long City is scheduled to put into operation next month. The harbour which can receive the world’s largest cruise vessels has a total investment of nearly VND1 trillion (USD45.54 million).
