A Jetstar Pacific plane had to turn back while about to take off from Danang International Airport Thursday morning to seek medical aid for a pregnant woman.
According to a representative from Jetstar Pacific, Nguyen Tien Sy, the plane carrying nearly 150 passengers was on the runway and about to take off at 7.55am when a Czech passenger stood up and gave signals that she wanted to use the toilet.
"The passenger, who was 11 weeks pregnant, did not speak any English but the word "baby"," Sy said. "She signaled that she was feeling unwell and needed to use the toilet."
The stewardess informed the captain and led the passenger to the toilet. After that, the passenger signaled that she was having problems with her fetus.
The flight crew decided to turned back to seek first-aid for the passenger who was then taken to a local hospital.
Doctors said that she was bleeding associated with the threat of miscarriage and needed to stay for special treatment.
It is said that the passenger was going on holiday with a group of six friends.
The flight to Ho Chi Minh City then took off at 9.43am. The airline said that they will waive the flight change fee for this passenger when she recovers.
On March 4th, 2016, a woman successfully delivered her baby on a Jetstar flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Danang with support from the crew and a British passenger who is a doctor.
