New school brings warmth to remote border students

A new school project in a remote border area aims to provide safer learning conditions for disadvantaged children, replacing makeshift classrooms where many endured harsh conditions.

Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien Province and Na Sang Commune authorities, held a groundbreaking ceremony for Huoi Quang 1 school site on April 21.

The project is funded by Dantri readers, donors and local authorities, supporting children in one of the country’s most disadvantaged areas to continue their education.

The new facility will include two classrooms, two staff rooms, a kitchen and two sanitation blocks for teachers and students, with a total investment of more than VND 877 million (approximately USD 34,400). Of this, Dantri readers contributed VND 835 million (approximately USD 32,800).

Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve access to education in remote areas, giving teachers and students better conditions for teaching and learning.

“The project is not just about building classrooms, but about investing in the future of these children and giving them greater opportunities through education,” he said.
