The price of RON 95-III increased by VND 230 to VND 20,070 (approximately USD 0.79) per litre. E5 RON 92 rose by VND 200 to VND 19,600 (approximately USD 0.77) per litre.
Meanwhile, diesel prices dropped by VND 260 to VND 18,800 (approximately USD 0.74) per litre, and kerosene declined by VND 50 to VND 18,660 (approximately USD 0.74) per litre. In contrast, mazut rose by VND 110 to VND 15,640 (approximately USD 0.62) per kilo.
Since August 1, Vietnam has piloted the sale of E10 biofuel, a blend of 10 per cent ethanol with mineral petrol, in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Haiphong. This trial marks the first step in a nationwide transition to green fuels scheduled to begin in 2026.
Following today's adjustment, E10 RON 95-III is priced at VND 19,830 (approximately USD 0.78) per litre, up by VND 230 from last week.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the government has assigned a minimum supply target of over 29.5 million cubic metres or tonnes of petroleum products for 2025. In the first half of the year, businesses prepared around 13.86 million cubic metres or tonnes for the domestic market, or 47 per cent of the annual target. Actual consumption was approximately 12.6 million, leaving stockpiles of 1.7 to 1.8 million cubic metres or tonnes.
