The number of overseas Vietnamese returning home for Tet in mid February is expected to be in excess of 500,000, according to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.
The positive forecast is based on the recovery of the global economy and the holding of various traditional festivals during the holidays.
In recent years, an average of 450,000-500,000 out of 4 million Overseas Vietnamese came back to Vietnam for Tet.
