The collision occurred at 5 am on the National Highway 1A section in Nghi Long Commune.
A passenger bus was travelling from Hanoi to Vinh City when it suddenly crashed into the tail of a tractor which was broken and parked on the side of the road at the time.

The collision caused minor congestion on National Highway 1A. The police were sent to regulate the traffic. Hospital 115 in Nghe An quickly sent employees to the scene after receiving reports about the accidents. 15 people were injured and one person died on the way to the hospital.
