After being self-quarantined at home, they have recovered and returned to work.

All people who have come into close contact with the two tested negative for the BA.4 sub-variant.

Meanwhile, the third patient is an 11-year-old girl in Tan Phu Trung Commune, Cu Chi District. On June 20, she suffered from fever with a temperature of 38.5 degrees centigrade and a slight cough. Earlier, she also had close contact with her mother, a Covid-19 patient.

Based on gene sequencing results, she has been diagnosed as being infected with the new Omicron BA.5 sub-variant.

The daughter has mainly remained at home without meeting many people since June 17.

Since June, the city has tightened control over the new sub-variants of Covid-19 in 22 districts and Thu Duc City.

The Pasteur Institute will carry out gene sequencing to detect new sub-variant carriers.

People are advised to take their Covid-19 vaccination jabs.

Earlier, three Omicron sub-variant cases were also detected in Hanoi.
