Northern region forecasted to face rain

The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to experience rain and strong winds until September 20 with a highest temperature of no more than 31 degrees centigrade.

Rain would occur in the northern region from this evening, September 17, with a rainfall of 20-70 mm.

Some mountainous areas, including in Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang, would have rainfall of up to 100-200mm. The heaviest rain is expected around midnight and early morning.

Hanoi would also be affected by this weather with lightning and gusts of wind during the rain.

Several mountainous localities, including Lai Chau, Yen Bai and Ha Giang, have been warned of flash floods following the rain.

The National Centre of Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported that Vietnam’s northern localities would see much rain in October, higher around 15-30% compared to the same period of last year.
