A train runs slowly through a landslide-prone area on the evening of November 10.
According to Vietnam Railways, service resumed at 11 pm on November 10 after workers completed repairs to the section running through Xuan Lanh Commune, Dak Lak Province.
Kalmaegi brought heavy rain and strong winds to provinces from Quang Ngai to Danang, damaging multiple sections of the railway, in some places as deep as 9 metres, and interrupting train operations.
Nearly 300 workers were mobilised to work around the clock for several days to repair the damaged tracks.
After four days of temporary suspension, trains were able to operate again from 11 pm on November 10. Through landslide-prone areas, trains are limited to 5km/h.
Passenger and freight services have officially resumed.
Vietnam Railways said the next phase will begin immediately, including permanent reinforcement of the rail bed to ensure long-term safety.
