Passengers check in at Noi Bai Airport
A representative from the airport said on Wednesday that the upgrade aims to increase the capacity to serve 15 million passengers a year by 2018.Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early and carefully read the direction signboards here for their flight check-ins during this time, the airport's representative said.
The upgrade work will cost nearly VND244 billion (USD10.73 million), including redecorating, upgrading the electricity system, and opening more bus gates.
The terminal was put into operation in October 2001 with capacity to serve 6 million passengers per year.
After an extension in 2013, the capacity hit 9 million, but at the time the terminal had already welcomed 12.8 million arrivals a year.
