The Tan Nam International Border Gate, located in Tan Bien District, Tay Ninh, directly connects with Meun Chey Gate in Prey Veng, Cambodia. The project has a total investment of VND 274 billion (approximately USD 10.7 million).
The Tan Nam - Meun Chey international border gate pair is expected to facilitate travel and trade between the two countries, boost economic cooperation, promote cultural exchanges, and improve the livelihoods of border residents. It also aims to strengthen the traditional friendship and good-neighborly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.
At a recent meeting, Tay Ninh Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Thanh and Prey Veng Deputy Governor Pich Sotharoth agreed to hold the inauguration ceremony between October 20 and October 30, 2025. The event will be organised at a national level, co-hosted by Tay Ninh and Prey Veng.
According to Nguyen Hong Thanh, the inauguration of the new international border gate will deepen international economic integration, foster sustainable cooperation, and enhance defense, security, and border diplomacy.
