Nearly 48,000 Vietnamese ​workers ​sent ​abroad in ​first ​four ​months

A significant number of Vietnamese workers continue to seek employment in key, familiar markets such as Japan, Taiwan (China), and South Korea.

According to the Department of Overseas Labour Management under the Ministry of​ Home Affairs, a total of 10,854 Vietnamese workers went abroad for employment in April 2025, including 4,064 women.

The top destination markets in April included​ Japan​ with 5,427 workers​, Taiwan (China)​ with 4,461 workers​, China ​(247​), and Singapore ​(153​).

This brings the total number of Vietnamese workers sent overseas in the first four months of 2025 to 47,881, including 16,152 women—representing 36.8 percent of the annual target.

Japan remained the leading market with 24,358 workers, followed by Taiwan (China) with 15,537, and South Korea with 4,242. Other notable destinations include China (1,005), Singapore (689), Romania (250), and Hungary (437), among others.

According to government statistics, there are currently around 700,000 Vietnamese workers employed in 40 countries and territories, across more than 30 occupational sectors. These workers not only earn stable incomes but also send home a significant amount in remittances—estimated at USD 3.5 to 4 billion annually.
