Nearly 4,000 professionals needed for Ninh Thuan nuclear power plants

Around 4,000 professionals are required for the two nuclear power plants in Ninh Thuan, including 670 specialists trained abroad.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has signed a decision to approve the plan for training and developing human resources for nuclear power development until 2035.

The project outlines that by 2030, the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant will need 1,920 people. This includes 1,020 engineers, bachelor's degree holders and 900 college-level technicians. Notably, 320 of the university-trained professionals will be trained abroad.

Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant will require approximately 1,980 personnel, including 1,050 with university or postgraduate degrees and 930 with college-level qualifications.

Among the figures for Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant, 350 will receive overseas training courses, and 700 will undergo short-term training and internships to update their expertise in nuclear power plant management and operations.

The project also includes training around 120 lecturers to help develop the workforce for the two nuclear power plants. Eighty are expected to earn master's degrees, and 40 will obtain doctorates in nuclear power.

Between 2031 and 2035, the project strives to train further and develop the actual needs of future plant operations.

The project prioritises sending engineering students and graduates for advanced training at home and abroad, organising international study visits, and selectively investing in key institutions that train personnel for the Ninh Thuan nuclear plants.
