The search operation began after the tourist went missing at Viem Dong Beach in Dien Ban Dong Ward on the evening of June 14, according to the Danang Military Command.
Initial reports said the tourist's family, consisting of three people, was staying at a hotel near the beach. After dinner, the father and daughter went for a walk along the shoreline while the mother remained at the hotel.
While walking in the dark, the father lost sight of his daughter and was unable to contact her. After searching the area without success, the family and hotel staff alerted authorities.
Nearly 100 personnel, including military officers, militia members, police, firefighters, rescue workers and local residents, have been deployed in the search effort.
Rescue teams have established a command post at the scene and are combing the coastline while expanding the search area.
