The sixth meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) was opened on January 9 in Ha Noi.

Addressing the opening ceremony, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan announced that this was the first meeting in 2017 and will last till January 11.
The NASC will review and pass two resolutions on order and procedures of the National Assembly, National Assembly Standing Committee, and NA delegations’ supervisory activities and coordinating regulations between the Supreme People’s Court and the Minister of National Defense over the management of military courts.
The NASC will comment on eight draft bills, including the Law on State Compensation Liability (amended); the Law on Legal Assistance (amended); the Law on Foreign Trade Management; the Law on SMEs Assistance; the Law on Planning; the Law on Management and Use of State Asset (amended); the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosive Materials, and Supportive Devices; and the Law on the Guard Force.
The commitee will review and give feedback on the portfolio and capital allocation of medium-term public investment projects in the 2016-2020 period and a draft resolution on discipline for retired officials.
