Hoa Binh (Peace), the most modern park in Hanoi, was inaugurated on October 8 to celebrate the 1,000 year anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao and many officials from central and local agencies.
The park, located in Xuan Dinh Commune, Tu Liem District, has a total investment of VND282 billion (USD14.46 million).
The 20-ha park accommodates a 5.5-ha lake, green space, parking lots and many other facilities. The Statue of Peace, 7.2m high, is at the heart of the park.
Approved in 2001 by the prime minister, Hoa Binh is designed to become a cultural and entertainment park in Hanoi.
The park symbolises peace and acts as a green oasis in the busy capital city.
