More than 8,600 new Covid-19 patients confirmed on Monday

According to the ministry's report, 8,603 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 57 out of 63 localities in the country including HCM City (1,165), An Giang (660), Binh Duong (616), Tay Ninh (579), Dong Nai (558), Tien Giang (500), Dong Thap (383), Binh Thuan (342), Kien Giang (329), Soc Trang (305), Bac Lieu (298), Vinh Long (289), Hanoi (239), Ca Mau (215), Binh Phuoc (187), Tra Vinh (179), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (178), Long An (136), Can Tho (125), Ha Giang (117), and Khanh Hoa (111). There were 13 imported patients confirmed today.

The new infections showed an increase of 440 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 3,950 infections found in the community.

As of Monday evening, 1,030,096 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (448,593), Binh Duong (244,113), Dong Nai (78,631), Long An (36,672), and Tien Giang (21,280).

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 1,035,138. The country now stands 37th among 223 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.

On November 15, an additional 1,205 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 864,516.

On Monday evening, a further 101 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 23,183. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM City (45), An Giang (10), Binh Duong (9), Long An (7), Tien Giang (6), Kien Giang (6), Dong Nai (3), Tay Ninh (2), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (2), Dong Thap (2), Can Tho (2), Bac Lieu (2), Ninh Thuan (2), and Dak Lak (1).

Vietnam on November 14 administered more than 849,150 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 99.75 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 35.28 million people having received two doses.
