More Tet trains to central region arranged

The Joint Stock Railway Transport Company will increase the number of passenger trains to the central region to meet the demand for the Tet Lunar New Year holiday.

From January 25 to 29, Train Service NA3 will be added to the route linking Hanoi and Vinh City in the central province of Nghe An.

Three additional trains will operate on the return route. Train Service NA8 will depart from Vinh Station on January 31 and February 1-2; Train Service NA12 will leave Vinh Station on February 1; and Train Service NA14 will depart from Vinh Station on February 1-2.

Meanwhile, the Joint Stock Railway Transport Company will operate trains SE14 and SE16 from Saigon Station to Vinh on January 18-19.

From HCM City to Quang Ngai, an additional SE26 Train Service will depart from Saigon Station on January 18, 2025.

The railway sector will also continue to run seven pairs of North-South passenger trains between Hanoi Station and Saigon Station.

Passengers can purchase tickets through the railway's ticket sales website at www.dsvn.vn; www.vetau.com.vn; www.vetauonline.vn; or via e-wallet applications, train ticket sales apps on mobile devices or contact stations and ticket agents.

Discounts are being offered to social policy beneficiaries. Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and revolutionary activists born before August 19, 1945, will enjoy a 90 percent discount on train ticket prices.

War invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals, people with especially severe disabilities and those with severe disabilities will be given a 30 percent discount.

People 60 and over will receive a 15 percent discount, and children six to 10 will receive a 25 percent discount.
