According to, the Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Centre forecast intermittent sunshine across HCM City and southern Vietnam on September 3, with scattered thunderstorms and localised heavy rain later in the day.
Temperatures are forecast to range from lows of 24-27 degrees Celsius to highs of 31-34 degrees.

Waters from Lam Dong to Ca Mau are expected to see southwesterly winds of level 5, occasionally reaching level 6 in northern areas and gusting to levels 7-8. Waves could reach 2-4 metres, with rough seas.
Waters from Ca Mau to An Giang and around Phu Quoc are forecast to see southwesterly winds of levels 4-5, gusting to levels 6-7, with waves of 1-2 metres and slightly rough seas.
Off HCM City, southwesterly winds are forecast at levels 5-6, gusting to levels 7-8, with waves of 1.2-2.3 metres. Scattered thunderstorms could bring whirlwinds and strong gusts.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected to increase across HCM City and southern Vietnam over the next few days before gradually easing around September 6 as the southwest monsoon and tropical convergence zone weaken.
Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities during thunderstorms and beware of localised flooding, lightning, whirlwinds and strong gusts, while avoiding shelter under trees or near unsafe structures.
