Sterilisation tightened control for the A/H5N6 flu prevention and control in Thanh Hoa
To date, the epidemic has affected eight other local households in Tan Khang and Tan Tho communes, causing 19,000 poultries to be destroyed.
The same situation has also been reported at Quang Xuong District with 3,300 poultries culled.
The department has co-operated with local districts to take drastic measures for the epidemic prevention and control. Up to 3,000 litres of chemicals have been given to the localities for sterilisation and 335,000 out of a total 2 million doses of A/H5N6 vaccines have been provided.
Le Duc Giang, director of the Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said localities in the province have focused on sterilisation, particularly at farms along with the tighter control over poultry transportation and slaughtering. Quarantine stations were set up at the flu-hit areas to prevent the poultry product transportation from and to there.
