Luong Quoc Huy remains at large
According to the investigative agency the women earned thousands of dollars per appointment.
The municipal police busted the ring last June and decided to prosecute several individuals suspected to be involved in running the operation.
One of the most prominent was Miss South Mekong, 2009, Vo Thi My Xuan, originally from Hau Giang Province.
Other offenders included Tran Quang Mai, from HCM City’s Tan Binh District, Nguyen Huu Dat, from Binh Thanh District’s Ward 26, and Le Quang Tuan Anh, from Lam Dong Province.
On June 2 officers from the Criminal Investigation in Social Order Unit (PC45) carried out a surprise inspection of a hotel in District 1, HCM City and discovered four couples caught in the act.
The women were all models, actresses or singers, while the remaining one was a student of a university in HCM City.
After some investigation, police found that two out of four women caught had been introduced to their clients through Luong Quoc Huy. They were paid USD1,000 each, with Huy pocketing 30%.
The investigative agency is continuing its probe into the case.
