A man in the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan has been injured after being attacked by a rare white-cheeked langur at Kim Ky Nature Reserve.
According to the management board of Kim Hy Nature Reserve, the incident happened on July 14 in Na Leng Village in Na Ri District. The local man was suddenly hit by the langur when driving a motorbike. As a result, he suffered some injuries to his right leg.
The man was injured by the langur at Kim Ky Nature Reserve.
He was sent to Van Lang Commune’s medical centre for six stitches and was vaccinated.
The Kim Hy Nature Reserve will encourage the gibbons to return to their natural environment. If this is ineffective, the reserve management board will consider other solutions to deal with the animals.
Some people in Van Lang Commune previously reported that they had seen a white-cheeked langur from Kim Hy Nature Reserve come to the forest edge to seek food.
