Vietnam's National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said weather conditions across the country would vary significantly on October 9, with northern areas remaining chilly at night and in the early morning, while central Vietnam faces another spell of widespread heavy rain.

From Ha Tinh Province to northern Quang Tri Province, rainfall is forecast to reach 50-100mm, with isolated areas receiving more than 150mm.
From southern Quang Tri to Hue, rainfall could reach 100-200mm, with some locations expected to receive more than 300mm.
Danang and eastern Quang Ngai Province may also experience heavy to very heavy rain, with totals generally ranging from 30-70mm and isolated areas receiving more than 120mm.
Meteorologists have warned that parts of central Vietnam could experience rainfall exceeding 100mm within three hours. This could cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban neighbourhoods and industrial zones, while increasing the risk of flash floods along small rivers and streams and landslides in mountainous areas.
In Hanoi, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in some areas from the afternoon of October 9, with locally heavy rain possible.
