Items recovered alongside the remains included military ponchos and hammocks, AK-47 cartridge cases, canned meat tins, battery cells, bullet tips, rubber sandal soles, electrical wires and a penicillin bottle.

After the recovery, the remains and accompanying artefacts were placed in the care of the search and recovery team, which is providing them with respectful preservation and regular incense offerings.
