Tay Ninh exports exceed USD 15.5 billion in nine months

Tay Ninh Province recorded more than USD 15.5 billion in exports in the first nine months of 2026, up 19 per cent year on year, as total trade reached an estimated USD 27 billion.

The southern province held a press conference on October 9 to report on its socio-economic performance in the third quarter and outline priorities for the final three months of the year.

According to a report by the provincial People’s Committee, exports reached an estimated USD 15.542 billion in the first nine months, equivalent to 79.3 per cent of the annual target. The province aims to achieve USD 19.6 billion in exports this year, a 10 per cent increase.

Imports were estimated at USD 11.501 billion, up 15.6 per cent year on year and equivalent to 85.2 per cent of the annual target. Tay Ninh has set an import target of USD 13.5 billion for 2026, an increase of 8 per cent.

Retail and consumer services also recorded solid growth. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached an estimated VND 174.4 trillion (about USD 6.72 billion) during the nine-month period, up 19 per cent year on year.

Retail sales accounted for VND 116.3 trillion (about USD 4.48 billion), an increase of 20.7 per cent. Accommodation revenue rose 18.96 per cent to VND 627.2 billion (about USD 24.2 million), while food and beverage services generated more than VND 21.586 trillion (about USD 831 million), up 12.8 per cent.

The provincial People’s Committee said continued growth in trade and services had made a positive contribution to local socio-economic development.

Tay Ninh’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) grew by an estimated 10.3 per cent over the first nine months, exceeding the 10.21 per cent projected in the province’s earlier growth scenario.

Agriculture, forestry and fisheries expanded by 3.23 per cent, while industry and construction grew by 14 per cent. Industrial production alone increased by 14.47 per cent. Trade and services rose by 8.49 per cent, while taxes on products less subsidies grew by 6.16 per cent.

The province ranked 10th among Vietnam’s 34 provinces and centrally governed cities for nine-month GRDP growth, placing it first among localities in the south. Ho Chi Minh City recorded growth of 9.06 per cent, while Dong Nai grew by 10.01 per cent, according to the report.

For the final quarter, Tay Ninh aims to sustain growth and achieve full-year GRDP growth of 10-10.5 per cent. Priorities include addressing obstacles to business and investment, accelerating the disbursement of public investment funds, and advancing key infrastructure works and projects.
