The department received a report of a drowning incident at Khe Ram Stream in Hoa Vang District on June 24.

A rescue vehicle and seven officers were immediately dispatched. However, the steep and rugged terrain made access difficult, and the team was forced to hike nearly two kilometres on foot.

After several hours of searching, officers recovered the victim’s body and brought it ashore.

Khe Ram is a deep mountain stream that has become a popular yet unregulated summer destination for both locals and tourists, despite lacking formal safety infrastructure.

Following previous incidents, authorities installed warning signs highlighting the area’s high risk of accidents. The public is urged to remain cautious and avoid swimming in unauthorised or potentially dangerous locations.
