Burns covers up to 55 percent of the three-year-old girl Gia Thi My from Meo Vac District’s Khau Vai Commune.
The little girl is staying at the National Institute of Burns for the treatment
My's father, Gia Mi Lung, 27, said he and his wife used to take their three children to the fields to work, because no one could help to look after them. While he was burning a pile of dry grass on the field, his daughter was playing nearby and then fell into the fire.
Despite being taken to a local hospital, My fell into a coma, so she was moved to the National Institute of Burns.
Every day, Lung and her daughter mostly live on meals of charity groups.

According to Tran Diu Hien from the National Institute of Burns’ Intensive Care Ward, My was hospitalised in a very critical condition with severe burns covering 55 percent of her body.
My has resisted the risk of death and seen improvement. However, due to the seriousness of her injuries, the treatment would be long and costly, Hien added. Besides medicines using health insurance, the patient would need additional treatment which were excluded from insurance.
She hoped that the public could support the little girl’s recovery.
