At separate working sessions with leaders of the three Vietnamese localities, Mr Thammavong thanked Vietnam, and the three provinces in particular, for their valuable assistance to Laos in national construction and defence.
He said Vietnamese and Lao localities should increase exchanges of visits at all levels to share experience in implementing socio-economic development projects, especially in poverty reduction, ensuring social security, studying and applying the public-private partnership model and building new rural areas.
Both sides need to strengthen cooperation in the areas of industrial-agricultural production, aquaculture, forestry development, and human resources training, said Mr Thammavong.
The Lao Prime Minister witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries’ organisations and businesses.
On February 26, he was received by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Binh Dinh province where he briefed his host on the results of his trip.
