
The pangolin was found by a resident in Ham Kiem Commune, formerly part of Binh Thuan Province, who later reported the discovery to local police and surrendered the animal.
Authorities identified the pangolin as a Group IB species, a category reserved for endangered and rare forest animals receiving the highest level of protection under Vietnamese law.
After receiving the animal, local authorities completed the necessary procedures and transferred it to the Ham Thuan Nam Forest Protection Department.
The pangolin will be cared for and processed for release back into its natural habitat in accordance with wildlife protection regulations.
