Japan's largest food wholesaler, Kokubu & Co., and Sojitz Corp. (2768) said Tuesday they will join hands to sell food wholesale in Vietnam.
Kokubu will work with Huong Thuy Manufacture Service Trading Corp., a Vietnamese food wholesaler in which Sojitz has held a stake since 2007.
The Japanese wholesaler will dispatch personnel to the Vietnamese firm to gather information and explore possible steps such as buying a stake. It plans to decide specifics as early as this year about how to proceed.
