Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the remark at a reception for Japan’s Chairman of the National Public Safety Commission and State Minister in charge of the abduction issue Keiji Furuya in Hanoi on July 29.

The Government leader applauded the outcome of talks between Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang and Japanese security official Keiji Furuya and described the Japanese delegation’s visit as a positive contribution to enhancing all-round cooperation between the two nations.

Vietnam attaches great importance to boosting mutually beneficial cooperation with Japan for the sake of peace, cooperation and development in the region.

The Vietnamese Government is ready to support cooperative activities between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and Japan’s National Public Safety Commission, Dung said.

He proposed intensifying delegation exchange and sharing security experience while asking the Japanese side to support Vietnam in training security personnel.

Keiji Furuya said his visit aims to reinforce cooperation between Japanese and Vietnamese police to combat all forms of social crime.

 He said he hopes that the Vietnamese Government will help the two security agencies improve their cooperation in a practical and effective manner.
