16 Vietnamese teams and 3 foreign ones from the Netherlands, Mongolia and the Philippine will compete on March 9 in the BTV-Cup Number One, a 10-stages bicycle race covering a total distance of more than 1,100km .
The Vietnamese teams include Domesco Dong Thap, Sai Gon Plant Protection Joint-Stock Company, Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang Plant Protection Company, all very strong squads featuring top cyclists like Truong Quoc Thang, Trinh Phat Dat, Nguyen Nam Cuc and Mai Cong Hieu, all hopeful to win the tournament.
The organizing board has announced that the tournament is now recognised as an annual international event for professional cyclists with a total cash prize of more than VND220 million.
