Two real estate projects with around 100 villas are being illegally carried out in a forest in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

Two real estate projects with around 100 villas are being illegally carried out in a forest in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

The Tropicana Garden 1 and 2 projects are located in B’La Commune’s pipe tree forest in Bao Loc District. A large number of pipe trees have been cut down for the project’s implementation.

The two projects are around a kilometre from each other.

The Tropicana Garden 2 project

The Tropicana Garden 1 project has 80 French-style villas with many of them put into use to serve tourists. Each villa covers 60-80 square metres.

Meanwhile, the Tropicana Garden 2 project includes a swimming pool and a park beside villas. Each villa is being sold at VND3-4 billion.

According to a representative from B’La Commune authorities, some people turned the agricultural land into residential land for conducting the projects.

The commune is not in charge of permitting to turn the use purpose of the farming land into residential land. This is the authority of the district’s management agencies.

The representative, however, said that households were allowed to donate their land for building roads, but it was illegal to use the farming land for building such villas.

A reporter of Dantri/DTiNews contacted an official from Bao Lam District People’s Committee to ask about the case, but he said the information would be announced later.

Lam Dong Province People’s Committee has instructed the local Department of Construction and concerned agencies to jointly investigate the case.
