The illegal walkway built in Trang An Landscape Complex
The committee's vice chairman, Dinh Chung Phung, said that the company has sent a letter saying that they will remove the illegally built walkway on Cai Ha Mountain which lies inside the Trang An Landscape Complex.
"They promised to remove the construction within a month from March 30 to April 30," Phung said. "The company also pledged to ensure safety and cause no damage to the heritage site."
Trang An Tourism Company built a 510-metre-long walkway with many concrete pillars and nearly 1,000 steps which was opened during the 2018 Tet holiday. The company also opened a waterway to Luon Cave without permission.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have asked to remove the illegal construction at a recent meeting with authorities in Ninh Binh Province.
Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognised as a UNESCO's World Heritage Site in 2014. Two year later, the prime minister approved the construction planning which banned construction at Cai Ha Mountain.
