The remains were found more than one metre deep in an acacia garden in a household in Cau Nhi Village, Hai Chanh Commune.

The remains, wrapped in a hammock, contained bones and some artefacts. Quang Tri Military Command took the remains to the Hai Lang War Cemetery for burial.
Authorities are continuing to expand the search in the area where the three remains were found.
Last year, the Quang Tri Military Command also found the remains of 12 soldiers in Hai Lam Commune, Hai Lang District.
