Hue City has been hit by three severe floods over the past 10 days

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, heavy to torrential rain has pushed water levels across the city higher. The sites will remain closed until severe weather subsides, with reopening dates to be announced.

The complex was previously shut from October 27 to 30 because of flooding. Staff and local residents had used pumps and sandbags to protect key structures. The monuments reopened on October 31 following safety inspections and clean-up operations.

Flood levels on major rivers in Hue have continued to surge since Sunday night. Over the next 24 hours, water levels on the Huong, Bo, Ta Trach, Truoi and O Lau rivers are expected to keep rising as heavy rain continues.

As of 10 am on November 3, the Huong River at Kim Long stood 0.77 metres above alarm level three, while the Bo River at Phu Oc exceeded the same level by 0.46 metres, causing persistent flooding in low-lying and urban areas.

Authorities warn of widespread flooding in low-lying and urban areas, along with risks of flash floods and landslides in mountainous districts. The situation could affect transport infrastructure, agriculture and daily life. Residents are advised not to cross fast-flowing waters for safety.
