The director of a hospital in Bac Ninh Province has been suspended for preventing journalists from collecting news about a recent food poisoning case which affected hundreds of workers at a local company.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien has instructed Bac Ninh’s Health Department to suspend Pham Van Phan, director of Luong Tai District General Hospital.
As reported earlier, on the morning of October 15, hundreds of workers at DHA Bac Ninh Ltd. Co. were hospitalised after showing symptoms similar to those of food poisoning. They all had eaten meals at the company. Local authorities then visited to the company to take samples in order to find out the cause of the mystery illness.
When reporters went to the hospital to gather information, Phan spoke harshly to them and attempted to obstruct their work.
