Deputy PM Phuc stressed the project will help reduce congestion and traffic accidents and shorten travel time among the provinces, helping promote socio-economic development and ensure defence security.
It took two years to construct the VND19,909 billion project, which was completed 12 months ahead of schedule. The section stretching from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh is 315 kilometres with four lanes for four-wheeled vehicles and an additional two lanes for motorcycles.
The 395.5-meter VND190 billion Nguyet Vien overpass project was also inaugurated at the event.
