In Son La province, one person remains missing after more than 50 houses and nearly 100ha of rice and subsidiary crops were flooded and over 300 heads of cattle and poultry swept away.
Many houses in Quy Huong, To Mua, Muong Men, Chieng Khoa and Phieng Luong areas of Moc Chau district are at risk of collapsing, but it is very difficult to approach them due to landslides and rising floodwaters.
A dam in Ninh Lai village, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province, has burst, submerging dozens of hectares of rice and subsidiary crops, and causing the death of cattle and poultry beyond number.

In Mai Chau district and Hoa Binh City in Hoa Binh province, heavy rain on July 28, caused landslides and damaged some road sections.
A huge volume of water has poured down stream into many areas in Thanh Hoa province, and there is a plan afoot to evacuate local people to high ground.
It is forecast that there will be more flash floods and landslides caused by heavy rain in the next few days.
