Heavy rain in the capital early Tuesday morning uprooted trees.

A large tree fell onto the roof of the house at 93 Hang Ma Street in Hoan Kiem District. Some others also fell onto the streets.

Workers from the Hanoi Green Tree Park Company arrived early in the morning to clear the site.


The falling trees have blocked several streets, causing traffic congestion during the morning rush hour.

A fallen tree was seen in Yen Hoa Urban Area in Cau Giay District.

The capital city has reported prolonged downpours over the past three days.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Hanoi reported a record daily rainfall of 140mm on the afternoon of May 29, which was the highest in 36 years in comparison to 132mm on June 18, 1986.
The downpour had caused serious flooding across many streets in the city.
