The wedding party was held on Sunday afternoon in Bau Bang District.

Many guests at the wedding wore face masks.

The bride who is a local woman said that she and her South Korean groom had planned to invite 500 guests but then reduced the number to 300 amid rising fear of the virus outbreak in the area.


"Some guests didn't show up today and sent us congratulation cards," the bride said. "My groom is from Daegu City in South Korea and we had some 30 guests from his hometown and some from China," the bride said. "They all arrived here from January 30."

The bride said that they were informed about the arriving of the authorities to disinfect the party area and check the temperatures of the guests.

Deputy director of Bau Bang District's Department of Health, Huynh Minh Chin, came to work at the wedding.

Speaking with the Tien Phong Newspaper the same day, Chairman of the Bau Bang District People's Committee, Le Khac Tri said that they had sent health workers to disinfect the area before and after the party was held and check the body temperatures of all coming guests.

An ambulance was sent to the wedding party area.

"We had a list of all the South Korean and Chinese guests," the official said. "They all arrived here on January 30 and were kept in quarantine area for 14 days already and now they have no virus symptoms."
